老师：Okay, now let's get started. Now please look at these 3 sentences. What do they mean? Can you translate them? Now let's look at the first one. African elephants are being hunted. So what does it mean? yes it means。非洲大象正在被猎杀。
老师：okay now lets come to the second one what is being done to help them it means yes。
老师：有什么帮助他们的事情正在被做吗？
老师：and the third one what measures are being taken to help them。
老师：有什么帮助他们的措施正在被采取吗？ Very good. Now please observe the tense and voice in these sentences and underlined verb forms. So the web forms are yes, are being hunted, is being done and are being taken. Then what pens in the voice is used? Yes, all the 3 sentences use the web form being done and actually it shows the present continuous passive voice which suggests something is still happening or it is describing the present situation but the voice is passive. Okay, then can you find more sentences with the present continuous passive voice in this unit? Yes, good. On page 15 we can find the sentence I know that they are being haunted and their habitat is getting smaller. And on the same page we can find the sentence, what measures are being taken. And on page 16 we can find they are being hunted illegally for their valuable fur. And also much is being done to protect wildlife. And on the next page we can find, yes, these large animals are being killed and more sentences on the following pages. Now let's compare and choose the suitable verb forms to complete the sentences on page eighteen. Activity team. Okay, now let's look at the first one. What is the difference between be working and being worked? Yes, be working shows the present continuous active.
