老师：Welcome back everybody. Then we're going to talk about how to write a report. A report is a piece of writing that provides information in a formal style. We may come to a conclusion based on facts and figures and avoid giving personal opinions when analyzing a situation. In order to write a report on internet use, we can follow the structure below.
老师：Step one, briefly introduce the history of the internet. Step two, clarify the recent changes on internet use. Step three, predict the future of internet use. Okay. In order to write a good one, we may use simple and plain language to present the information in a clear and correct way. Facts or statistics can be included in the information. Now let's come to the first step. Briefly introduce the history of the internet. Previously we have listen to Mister Tan's talk and we can see Mister Tan mainly talks about the history and development of the internet in his introduction. And in the beginning, only four computers were connected. Scientists around the world originally use the internet as a space to share information and also TM banners. Lee taught others to build their own websites. Here, according to the timeline, we can see a different events in those major years. According to Mr Tan's talk, we can piece together all the important information about the history of the internet use. See, the first general purpose computers came onto the market in the early 1950s, but it was only in 1969 that computers allowed people to pass messages along a network and talk to each other. To start with, only four computers were connected and a network was for military use.
老师：Public commercial use of the internet began in mid 1989. Scientists around the world originally used the internet as a space to share information. The world's first website was built in 1990 by TM Berners Lee, a British scientist. He then told others how to build their own websites, allowing the internet to grow. Within 24 years, there were more than 1 billion websites online. And two years later, that is in 2016,3.6 billion people were using the internet. That is about 48% of the world's population at that time. So that is all about the history. And then we're going to step 2, clarify the recent changes on internet use. We are going to talk about the bar charts and the pie charts. So here, let's take a look at the bar chart.
