老师:hello, everyone, my name is 刘青 from Beijing number four high school 房 Shan campus。

老师:Nice to see you again. Welcome to the online class. Today we are going to learn Unit 5, a delicate word. This period we are going to deal with the first passage, Macquarie Island, from chaos to conservation, and will mainly focus on reading. Please turn to page 49. Here are our learning objectives. I hope at the end of this lesson you will be able to, the No. 1, find out what happened to Macquarie Island. And number two, make a flow chart to show what human did, their purposes and the results and effect of these human activities on Macquarie Island. And number three, talk about how similar situations could be avoided in the future.

老师:Now, let's enjoy a video clip. While watching, please think about the following questions. Number one, are humans part of Earth's ecosystems? Why? And number two, in what ways can humans affect ecosystems?

学生:Connected together? Between where I'm standing and wherever you're sitting, there are millions of different types of plants and animals, millions of different species, all living together in an environment, in something we call an ecosystem. Now, in order for an ecosystem to be successful, in order for it to be healthy, it has to have different kinds of plants. Now, lots of different kinds of plants and animals, something we call biodiversity. Now, biodiversity sounds kind of complicated, but if you listen, it also sounds kind of nice. This is the earth, our world? All the living things that we know of live here and they live in ecosystem places like hundreds, tigers, civilians, grasslands, prayers, desert steps, intertains zones, subtitle Zones, Canal Shells, Demotion Zones, Estuaries, Assiduous Forests, Temperate Rainforest Tropical Rainforest for spartic ice packs. Wetlands, green buckflats and cities.

学生:That's a lot of environments but there are a lot of living things to fill them up. The Earth's environments are just crowded with life. Living things take hold everywhere they can.

学生:Here's an insect living right on top of blades of grass. It's a living thing that lives on other living things. See environments always have living parts and non living parts. Some animals live on top of plants, some animals live in the water. Some plants grow on rocks. It's all part of the ecosystem. Nearly three corners of the world's surface is covered with water. So most of the world's living things live here. It's just one ecosystem after another.

学生:Now, near as we can tell, all living things depend on other living frequency. So the more different kinds of living things in an ecosystem, the more successful it is. We call this biodiversity.

学生:Different kinds of life. We can think of an ecosystem as this wooden puzzle game
