  老师:hi, everyone welcome to this lesson my name is Zhang yanping from Beijing。 Academy of Educational Sciences, Doko Dian Secondary School. Today we are going to learn Unit 1, food for thought, developing ideas. And the topic is cold truth.   老师:First of all, let's look at the objectives of today. At the end of the class, you will be able to summarize the eating and living habits of five people from different professions, to make comments and suggestions about the lifestyle of each person in the passage, to tell your opinions on that and lifestyle hope at the end of the class you can achieve all the objectives.

  老师:Are ready? Here we go. When it comes to diet, what do you usually eat for dinner? If it is possible, you can have a discussion with your partner and see who eats more healthily. Well, do you believe that? I can guess whether you eat healthily or not through looking at your fridge.

  老师:Let's have a look at some pictures of fridges. What are in the fridges? What do you know about the owners? For this picture, we can see the fridge is full of fruit and vegetables, which are certainly healthy. What do you know about the owner? I guess the owner is a vegetarian because there is no meat in the fridge.

  老师:Let's have a look at the next picture. What can you see? Frozen food and semi finished food occupy the whole fridge. It seems that the owner has a big family, but they don't have enough time to cook fresh vegetables. How about this picture? Meat and sausages come into your set. Guess what? The owner may be a meat lover.

  老师:Now, what can you see from this picture? i can see milk juice。 And canned food. There is no fresh food in the fridge. Right. What about this picture? there are some eggs youre good。 Roughly an apple and some toast in it. It seems that the owner doesn't eat much.

  老师:Just now, we get some clues about the owners through the pictures, actually. It is a skill about visual information. Let's see what the pictures can provide us with. Visual information such as photos and illustrations can support reading and help you identify the scene and content of a text. Make the most of these images to look for clues to help you understand the text.
