  老师:Hello everyone. Welcome back to a new listener vocabulary. In today's class, we will learn some words and expressions in Unit 2 robots. Let's get started. As usual, we will go through these words and expressions. First, satisfaction guaranteed. Test out sympathy. A company, ring somebody up. Declare, leave somebody alone. Set aside, be bump to still.

  老师:We have picked out the sentences with these words and phrases from the reading materials in your book. Now let's look at the title of the reading passage first. The title is satisfaction guaranteed. Guarantee is a transitive verb which means to promise to do something or to promise something will happen.

  老师:Here are two examples. We guarantee to deliver your goods within a week. Basic human rights, including freedom of speech, are now guaranteed. Guarantee can also be used as a noun. For example, your watch is still under guarantee. Guarantee year means a written promise given by a producer that something you buy will be replaced or repaired without payment if it goes wrong within a particular period. In this title, guarantee is used as a past participle to modify the word satisfaction.

  老师:Now let's go over the different forms of satisfaction. The verb is satisfy, and the adjective is satisfactory or satisfactory. And we have Learned these two phrases, be satisfied with.

  老师:对什么很满意?令人满意的是你。sorry。 Now, the second phrase, test out, it was going to be tested out by Larry's wife, Claire. The phrasal verb test something out or test out something means to put something in test or examine or check something. For example, the new vaccine is going to be tested out. The next word you should pay attention to is a noun, sympathy. Claire thought it was ridiculous to be offered sympathy by a robot. Sympathy is the feeling of being sorry for somebody, showing that you understand and care about one's problem. It can be used in the phrases like to have sympathy for somebody or to feel sympathy for somebody, to show or to offer or to express sympathy to somebody. Be careful with the adjective and adverb of sympathy. They are sympathetic sympathetically.

  老师:Sentence No. 4 from the text, as he was not allowed to accompany her to the shops, he wrote out a list of items for her. A company is a transitive verb. Its meaning is to stay with somebody. It can be used as accompanies nowadays to some place or keep somebody company, or in the company of somebody.

  老师:Now, please give me the English for this sentence. You may use a company, somebody to a place. Last Saturday, his parents accompanied him to the countryside. Or last Saturday he went to the countryside accompanied by his parents.
