  老师:Hello, welcome to the class. First, look at the learning objectives. In this class, you will acquire the information about the theme parks, analyze the language features of the text, write an introduction to a park according to what you have Learned before. Try to answer some questions.

  老师:Question one, what's a theme park? Question 2, have you ever been to a theme park? Which theme park have you been to? A theme park is a type of park where you can have fun riding on big machines such as a roller coaster, and where the whole park is based on one subject, such as water or space travel. For me, I have ever been to several theme parks, such as Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong Ocean Park, windows of the world and so on.

  老师:Before reading, look at the title, subtitle and pictures on page 31 and predict what the text is mainly about. Some of you may think the text is mainly about theme parks and what we can do in the theme parks. Read the text quickly and check your prediction. Yes, you are right.

  老师:The text mainly introduces 3 theme parks which give people something fun and more than five. Read the text carefully and fill in the table on page 32. Have you finished?

  老师:The first park is Disneyland. The park has various locations. In this park we can travel through space, visit a pirate ship, enormous, bringing ships scary free for jobs. We can also meet a parade of Disney characters.

  老师:The second part is Dollywood in Smoking Mountains in the southeastern USA. The park has an old wooden roller coaster, Thunderhat. In this part, people can see famous country music groups put on performances there.

  老师:The last part is Qinglong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai, China. In this part, we can join waterfight against the pirates. We can also enjoy ourselves with exciting roller coaster and water rice. In this park, people can visit Wheelshark Aquarium, watch dolphin and sea line shows and see polar bears. The park also has plenty of restaurants with tasty food for every appetite. After reading the text, do you know how to introduce a theme park.

  老师:The table on page 32 shows the introductions to each theme park. What headers would you give for columns a to D? Column a is about name and location. Column B is about rice. Column C is about attractions and column d is about food or restaurants.

  老师:The text uses a lot of adjectives and several if clauses and imperatives. Find the following items in the text and think about how they are used and what they add to the text.

  老师:First, please read the test again and try to find the adjectives. In paragraph 1, we can find a lot of adjectives, such as various different famous, biggest, longest, incredible. Here, incredible means unbelievable. In paragraph 2, we can find familiar, magical, adorable, possible. D
