Indeed, music plays an important role in our life, and today we are going to learn such a story.

  老师:Please look at the photo. The girl in the photo is Sarah Williams. Let's talk about the photo. Where might be Sarah? What might she listen to and why she makes a victory sign? Do you have any idea?

  老师:Please keep the three questions in mind. Let's read and explore. Please do activity 1. Read for the main idea. Let me give you some time to read. Have you finished? Can you find out the answers to the 3 questions? Right. Sarah might be in hospital. She might listen to music. She makes a victory sign because music or help her overcome the difficulty.

  老师:How about the main idea? Yes. This is a speech. It's about how music changed Sarah's life. After we get the main idea, let's focus on some details. Let's do activity two. Please read again and try to explore the following 3 questions. What was Sarah's problem? How did she overcome the problem? And what is her advice to others? When you read, you can take notes or use mic map or graphic organizer to note down the key information. Have you finished? Well, let's share your idea. Here is a graphical organization.

  老师:We can start from Sarah's problem. She has a serious disease which was difficult to cure, and music helped her overcome the problem. Music made her feel much better because it is a medicine of the mind. Therefore, Sarah's advice to others is to use music to help when you have problems.

  老师:Are you correct? As you can see, this is a speech and any speech will follow a certain outline. So let's have a case study. Let's take this speech as an example. Please read for the outline of a speech. How many parts are there in a speech and what are they?

  老师:Please read the text again. Have you finished? Can we share your idea together? Can you see the first sentence of the first paragraph? Good morning.
