  老师:Hello, everyone. This lesson will focus on the grammar of this unit, and we will also talk about friends.   老师:Now, first, let's look at the picture. Have you ever watched this film? Do you know the name of it? Tiny times. That's it. And it was issued in 2014 and was a hit then. Do you know the theme of the film?

  老师:Friendship between students. The four goals in the picture are the main characters. They live together, study together, and go forward together. They share happiness and sorrow.   老师:Now let's look at the three more pictures. They are modern tools that keep us connected. Do you use such communication tools to make friends? Do you like them? And what do you think of them? Convenient, helpful? Then what about friends made online? We may say easy come, easy go. So we make friends online, but these friendships can be quite shallow. Then what is a real friend?   学生:Yet these days, the modern tools that keep us connected are eaten away at the meaning of friendship. We may be able to make many friends online, but these friendships can be quite shallow. Social media, like blocks has come between us and the friends whom we love. Texting and messaging cannot take the place of face to face chatting. Sharing our experience on social media is not enough to express the values which matter most to us. Liking our friends photos online does not develop the connection which we share. To make friends a real part of our lives, we should put down our smartphones and meet them in person.
