  老师:Hello, boys and girls. Welcome to my class. Today we are going to learn Unit 4, do it yourself, the task part. Now, first, let's review some DIY stories. Look at the picture. What is hobo? And it is DIY story. They want to build a house by themselves. What about Angel? Yes, Andrew loves to repair things and decorate his house, but when he finishes, the house always looks terrible.

  老师:The third picture is Milly. She is teaching her classmates how to make cards. What does Cindy do? Sandy and her mom are talking about how to make a sandwich. What is Amy's DIY story? Amy likes to make a fruit salad. Everyone has their DIY stories. So boys and girls, what is your DIY story?

  老师:Today we've got a chance to write down your own DIY story. Before doing this, let's learn Susie's DIY job. Please turn to page 52, read this diary by yourselves and then tell me, what did Susie decide to make? Yes, Susie decided to make her mom a birthday card. What? Why did Susie go to Sandy's home to make the birthday card? In paragraph 1, we know she went there because she wanted to keep it secret. Boys and girls, why did she want to keep a secret? Any good ideas? Yes, maybe because she'd like to give her mom a surprise. Do you think so? Actually, if we want to write about our own DIY stories, we can think from what and why questions. For example, what do we do by ourselves? Why do we do that? These two questions can make the beginning of our DIY stories in paragraph one.

  老师:Now let's walk in pairs and choose one of the entries to talk with your partners. Think about these two questions. What did you do and why did you do that? Well, oh, you have done a very good job. Now please read paragraph 2 and three. Learn how did Susie make the birthday card? I have divided into 4 steps. Can you analyze them?

  老师:Step one, I made a birthday card with some roses on it. Step two, I wrote the sentence, happy birthday, mom. Step three, I color the roses, right, blue and pink. Step four, I cut out a picture of colorful balloons and stack it on the cover. Okay, boys and girls, please look at the screen. These are four steps of Suly's DIY job. Would you please change the steps into some conjection words? In fact, we can use 1st, then next, finally, to organize our stories. These conjunction words can make our language more logical, right?

  老师:In Suzy's diary, she used many verbs to introduce how she made the birthday card. Can you solve these verbs, mate? Wrote, colored, cut out and stuck. These are the description of actions. When we do the DIY jobs, of course, we have many actions now. Can you think of any other verbs about DIY jobs? These pictures may give you some hint. For example, if you painted a room, what verbs would you use? Or if you fixed a bicycle, what verbs could you
