19 Unit 5 Revealing nature(3)

  老师:Hello everyone, welcome to today's class. My name is fengdong. I'm from Fangshan School, affiliated to Capital Normal University. Today we'll learn the third part, developing ideas in unit file, revealing nature. We'll read the passage named The Sacred Language of plants on the purpose of keeping on revealing the secret of nature. Expect to work out more information together with you.

  老师:At the end of this class, you will be able to do the following things. 1St, find out the ways in which plants communicate, organize information from the passage and complete a diagram. What's more, integrate the information and describe the ways of a communication. Beaten clients, I to last, voice your opinion of the benefits of a studying plant communication. Before reading. Let's start with thinking about what plants can do. Please look at the pictures on page 56 and take you answer. The first plant is a banners tripe fly. The one beside it is a sensitive plant named my mother or touch me not. And the last one is a pop.

  老师:Can they do the things list here? Can they attack, move a brace? What about the speaking, eating or stealing? Can they sleep or think? Think about it and share you ideas with the people around you. Actually, it has been known for all of us that plants breathe the oxygen out, which does as really good. They can breathe. What's more, as we know, some plants sleep during winter.

  老师:And from the pictures, we can see that plants can attack it and move in some way. Now, please talk about what else you think appliance can do and give examples. Sunflower can track the sign. Some plants can tell the seasons. So far, we have discussed things that clients can do based on the background knowledge of our own. Now let's watch a short video. And please try your best to get more information.

  学生:From nurturing their young to eavesdropping on their neighbors, it seems plants are doing whoa and saying quite a bit is the plant's way of calling out for help. We just need to listen.

  学生:They may not swing from branches or gallop across the Savannah. But plants do move and they do behave. And one of the ways they behave is through growth. But does all of this growth really constitute behavior? Are the movements of plants in any way comparable to this?

  学生:Right now, this fox is hunting for mice, using every weapon in his evolutionary arsenal to find a mule.

  学生:And this plant is doing pretty much the same thing. When an unsuspecting insect roams into a Venus flytrap, all it takes is a brush with two of the plants trip hairs and the trap is sprung. The bug is then slowly digested, providing the plant with much needed nutrients, unless, of course, a lucky victim manages to escape.
