  老师:Hello boys and girls, welcome to my class. My name is xieran. I come from Beijing Fangshan High School. Today I'm very glad to learn how to write about an experience with you together. At the end of the class, you will be able to get the main idea and information of the author's experience, Danny in the dark. Learn the structure of writing about an experience. Find the useful expressions used in writing about an experience, right about an experience, and revise your own and others writing.

  老师:Okay, now let's start at the beginning of the class. I'd like you to read a short passage about an experience. First read the topic and the first sentence of the passage and predict what is mainly talking about in the passage. Okay? I think all of you have got the answer.

  老师:This is a passage about the author's special experience in a dark restaurant. Dine means eat. Dining in the dark means old people eat. Incomplete darkness, served by blunt people, is the author's experience of being blind. Okay? Have you had this kind of experience before? If you have had such an experience, I think it should be unforgettable. Okay?

  老师:Now, please read the passage, get the details of the passage, and try to find out the writer's feeling and the challenges he met. While reading the passage, please think of the following questions. Question No. 1, why did the author go to the dark restaurant. No. 2, what difficulty did the author have during the meal? No. 3, how did the author feel after finishing the meal?

  老师:Okay, now please read the passage and try to get the answers of the questions. Have you finished? Let's read the passage together. Recently, I dined at a dark restaurant where people eat incomplete darkness served by blunt staff. I wanted to understand the experience of being blind, and I thought eating would be the most difficult act activity. It was a difficult meal because we couldn't see where anything was. My friends and I knocked over glasses and dropped food. My senses of taste and smell became more sensitive, and I ate much more slowly, trying to guess what I was eating. Pouring water was very difficult, plus I kept drinking from my friend's glass.

  老师:After failing to pick up any food with a fork for five minutes, I decided to use my hands. I reached down expecting rice and vegetables, but instead stuck my hand into a bowl of warm, thick soap. It's best to use a spoon for this course, the waiter said into my ear helpfully, but much too late. Even using a spoon, most of the soup ended up on my shirt. I felt embarrassed even though no one could see me. Our waiter advised us to lift the plates and both close to our faces. However, I still left the restaurant feeling hungry, though I was much more aware of the challenges that blind people face.
