  老师:也就是说,同学们在这里首先要明白,现在分词是起修饰作用的,那么它修饰的是哪一部分?在句子 a 里, reading 是修饰的 people 这个单词翻译为阅读我博客的人。在句子 b 里, rising 是修饰的 sun 这个单词翻译为正在升起的太阳。然后我们要找到这个现在分词的逻辑主语,那么逻辑主语怎么找?判断方法是现在分词这个动作的发出者是谁,那么它的逻辑主语就是谁在第一个句子里谁在阅读。很明显是 people 在阅读,在第2个句子里谁在升起。

  学生:the sun is rising。

  老师:是太阳正在升起。所以同学们可以得出现在分词和被修饰词之间是什么逻辑关系。被修饰词就是现代分词的逻辑主语,那么这一部分知识需要大家好好理解一下。而且现在分词放在被修饰词之前,通常表示的是动作正在进行,比如句子中的 the rising sound,正在升起的太阳。再比如。

  学生:the smiling girl。

  老师:翻译成正在笑的女孩。 the crying baby 翻译成正在哭泣的婴儿。

  学生:So can you think out more examples? As you can see, the word reading is put after the noun it modifies, but rising is put before. So my third question is when do we put ing form before the noun it modifies? And when? do we put after?

  老师:那么我们什么时候把现在分词放在被修饰词之前?什么时候把现在分词放在被修饰词之后?同学们发现规律了吗?

  学生:in sentence a reading my blog is used as attributive to modify people its more than one word, but in sentence b there is only one word rising modifying the sun so if only one word is used to modify the noun, we usually put it before the noun。

  老师:在这两个句子里,同学们可以看到 reading my blog 这个短语作定语好被用来修饰 people 这个单词。 reading my blog 是三个词,所以它放在了被修饰词 people 的后边。而在第二个句子里边, rising 作定语被用来修饰 sun 的时候, rising 只有一个词,它被放在了被修饰词 sun 之前。也就是说单个现在分词作定语时,现在分词一般放置在被修饰的名词之前。如果用现代分词短语作定语时,那么现代分词短语要放置在被修饰的名词之后。同学们对这点清楚了吗?
