  老师:同学们大家好,我是来自北京市朝阳外国语学校的徐凌晨老师,很高兴与大家见面。今天我们要一起学习的是外研版教材七年级下册。

  老师:Module 11, unit 2. Here are some ways to welcome them. Now let's get started. In the previous lesson, we have Learned about how people from seven different countries greet each other. And I have asked you to collect more information about different ways of welcoming people in different countries. Have you done your homework, I hope.

  老师:First of all, let's review together how do people greet each other in China? Yes, we shake hands and smile. Then we may have a chat with each other. In China, a popular greeting is, have you eaten already? We may ask this question as greetings around meal time, which is just a way of showing our care for others.

  老师:Do you remember how people greet each other in America? Yes, some people also shake hands like what we do, and some kiss or hug each other. We see that very often in the movies or on TV, right? Let's move on.

  老师:How do people greet each other in Russia? Yes, they usually kiss 3 times. Do you remember the order of kissing? Yes. Left, right and left. How do Maori people in New Zealand greet each other? Yes, they touch noses, which sounds very special to us, right? Have you seen anyone do that before? For me, I only saw that on TV.

  老师:How do people greet each other in Japan? Yes, as you can see in this picture, they smile and bow to each other. Japanese people bow to show their respect when they meet people. Do we bow to each other in China? Yes, but with some differences. Chinese people bow less frequently, for we only bow to very respected people such as the elders or teachers. You can find out more after class if you are interested.

  老师:How do people greet each other in India? Yes, they put their hands together and not their heads. Here is my challenge question for you. Have you found out how people greet each other in Thailand? Please have a look at this picture. Can you describe how they greet each other? Yes, they also put their hands together like the Indians, but the difference is that they also bow a little. Can you do like this? I also put my hands together and bowed when I traveled in Thailand. Maybe some of you did this too.

  老师:How interesting. In today's lesson, we are going to learn more about body language around the world by reading a passage. Are you excited? First of all, let's check your understanding of some words related to our body. Please turn to page 68 and let's have a look at activity one. In the picture, we can see a girl running. We can also see six words listed on the left. They are eye, finger, food, me, like and mouth. Around the picture of the girl, we can see six little boxes with numbers beside her? Parts of body.
