Betty calls her mom on the Great Wall and she tells her mom what her friends are doing. In their conversation, Betty uses the present continuous to talk about things that are happening at or around the time of speaking.

  学生:Now let's review the grammar of this module. Present continuous. Here are 5 sentences. Let's read them. I'm standing on the Great Wall of China and talking to you. Tony is eating a delicious ice cream. They are working. People aren't having dinner.

  老师:同学们注意到句子中的现在进行时态了吗?现在进行时态的结构式, be 动词加现在分词,在否定句中,我们用。

  学生:be not。

  老师:加现在分词。同学们要注意, be 动词需使用一般现在时态下的形式。

  学生:Now let's read the sentences with present continuous in the conversation in Unit 1. 1 Wang Hui is taking lots of photos. 2. Lingling is buying a few presents and postcards. 3. Daming is having lunch and lying in the sun. 4 we are enjoying the school trip a lot. Sentences with present continuous in the news report in Unit 2. 1 in London is 5 o'clock in the afternoon and people are leaving work and are going home. 2 in Moscow is 8:00 in the evening, so people aren't having afternoon tea. 3 in Beijing it's 1 o'clock at night, so people aren't having dinner. 4 people aren't sleeping. Now let's review the positive and negative forms of present continuous. im writing a letter。

  老师:我正在写信。

  学生:im not writing a letter。

  老师:我没在写信。

  学生:He or she is listening to the music. He or she is not or isn't listening to the music.

  学生:We are enjoying our trip. We are not or aren't enjoying our trip. They are talking to each other. They are not or aunt talking to each other.

  学生:We also need to know the rules for present participants. Let's learn the. them together。

  老师:一般情况下,动词后直接加 i n g。

  学生:for example working,buying,visiting,talking。

  老师:saying。以字母 e 结尾的动词去掉e,然后加 i n g。

  学生:for example taking having leaving driving writing making。

  老师:以辅音字母加元音字母加辅音字母的重读闭音节结尾的动词。如果末尾只有一个辅音字母,双写这个辅音字母,然后加。

  学生:i n g, for example stopping shopping sitting getting。

  老师:特殊。

  学生:变化, lie lying。

  学生:Now let's do some exercises with present continuous. Please write about the pictures. 1. Some boys, football, they basketball. In this picture, we can see a coach, some boys and footballs, but we can't see any basketballs. So we can write, some boys are playing football, they aren't playing basketball.

  学生:2 some old people. They younger. In this picture, we can see some old people in white, they are doing a traditional Chinese way of exercising, so we can write, some old people are playing.
