10 Unit2 Looking into the Future Video Time

  老师:Hello everyone, welcome to the English class. Today we will continue to learn Unit 2, looking into the future. This is the last period of this unit, video time. In this class, you will obtain key information on robber bees from the video and design a robot and explain how this robot might be used. Have a look at this picture on the opening page of this unit. What does the picture show us? A robot is raising up a little boy who is looking into the universe, which means robots are going to help us in many aspects in our lives in the future. Now let's have a quick review of the text on page 14, Smart Homes to make life easier and see what it talks about.

  学生:However, in the not too distant future, we will be living in smart homes that will lock the door for us when we are away and remember to switch off the TV when we forget. These smart homes will keep us secure, save us energy and provide a more comfortable environment to.

  老师:Live in. So we see smart technology is on the way. Do you still remember these pictures? Yes. They are from using language of this unit. And this is artificial intelligence. This is automation. How about this? Yes, none of us.

  老师:And what do these pictures show us, right? Nowadays, a lot of robots are helping us in our lives in many areas such as medical care and manufacturing. Well, at the same time, a lot of robots are being developed to help us in the future. Today we are going to watch a short video about a kind of robots which are being developed. Look at the brief introduction at the top of page 24.

  老师:What can you learn from this? Yes, these kinds of robots are named robot bees. They are small flying robots and they are being developed at the West Institute of Harvard University. Before you watch, predict what you are going to see in the video. Maybe the reason why Robbies are created. Maybe the feature of rubber bees, maybe the applications of rubber bees, maybe other information about rubber bees. And let's move to next activity and see whether we can get some hint.
